TX Vektor Fountain Pen Review

TX Vektor Fountain Pen
Average Reviews:

This is a beautiful fountain pen, wow! Sexy and curvy, the matte silver meeting with a chrome portion just before the nib is so elegant. It may not be clear, but there is a pearl at the end of the clip, an unexpected touch.
With the cap off though the pen seems a bit short, only about 4 3/4". Still it's fine for a woman's hand. The cap on makes it feel a bit top heavy, but honestly this will not keep anyone from absolutely loving this pen.
It definitely has the "wow" factor, love it!

Sensa Meridian Crystal Silver Fine Point Fountain Pen - N14305 Review

Sensa Meridian Crystal Silver Fine Point Fountain Pen - N14305
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
this is a great pen. I have it with the fine point nib and also the med. point nib. The medium point nib leaves a rather broad line and a bit too broad for my purposes. I am an artist and do ink sketches with watercolor washes so the fine point is perfect for this. The pen is extremely comfortable to hold. The 'plasmium' grip is ADDICTING! You'll be thinking of ways to use this pen just so you can hold it. I also journal with it so it is very comfortable to use for long periods of time. The nib glides over moleskine paper and typical sketchbook paper with ease. I use Noodler's Bulletproof black ink in this pen without a problem. The pen does have a little heft to it, but I like it.

Cross Tech 3, Satin Black, Multi-Function Pen, with Black and Red Ballpoint Ink and .05mm Pencil (AT0090-3) Review

Cross Tech 3, Satin Black, Multi-Function Pen, with Black and Red Ballpoint Ink and .05mm Pencil (AT0090-3)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This pen is quite useful, and it has been quite reliable. I work in a job that requires me to carry a red pen and a blue or black pen, so this fits the bill well. The only problem is the small amount of ink in the refills and the difficulty in obtaining more refills. The erasers have been easy to find at the local office store, and it takes standard .5mm leads, such as Pentel hi-polymers, so those are also easy to buy. If not for the difficulty in finding replacements for the tiny, quickly depleted refills, this pen would be right up there with my Pilot Knights as one of my favorite pens. In answer to the refill problem, I found out today to my surprise that Staedtler multi-action ball point refills work perfectly well of Cross refills are not available. Another good thing about this pen is it is immune to the quality drop in Cross pens since they began mass manufacturing them in China rather than producing them in the classic handmade style in the USA. This pen is Japanese made, and it has the quality of a Pilot.

Pilot Varsity Assorted Multicolor 7 Pack Fountain Pen - P90029

I am a new user to fountain pens, so this is no expert review at all. Basically, what feedback I can offer is that I like the feel of the pen; the way it travels across the paper as I write. The ink seems to flow out at a consistent rate. As I poke around looking at other fountain pens, these are on the VERY inexpensive side and I am happy with their performance.

These pens are very impressive, heavy and balanced without being too heavy for my small woman's hand. They are rich looking and the value is excellent. The ink flows very smoothly, no problems at all with leakage or smudging. The only thing I wish is that the nib would be a fine point - but other than that, these pens are great!

Lamy Joy AL Fountain Pen - Black/Silver, 1.5mm Nib L11-1.5 Review

Lamy Joy AL Fountain Pen - Black/Silver, 1.5mm Nib L11-1.5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been using a Safari for a few years and love it; I thought a broader tip might be a fun change of pace so I ordered this pen.
While I was disappointed with the cap (it doesn't stay on the end of the pen when in use) it's a lovely looking pen and the length of it makes it feel like an elegant writing piece.
I have the 1.1 nib, and find it has enough flare to be a bit fancier looking for letters and correspondence, but not so much it's not appropriate for use in the office.
I first tried to use a cartridge with it, but didn't like it. I found that the converter is a much smoother and consistent writing experience, no wonder it's included with the pen. If it matters I use the Lamy brand bottled ink. I'm very happy with the way it writes and wonder at this point if I'll go back to the regular Safari!

ACME Studios Standard Rollerball Pen Robie House, Black/Silver (PW10/R) Review

ACME Studios Standard Rollerball Pen Robie House, Black/Silver (PW10/R)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is my second ACME roller ball pen. I received my first, Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Brick' design several years ago when I'd been looking at Monte Blanc pens and found them over priced for 'resin' and too light weight to my hand and writing style. The cap liner on the 'Brick' wore out a year or so ago and I contacted ACME in Hawaii to order a replacement liner, they sent me several at no cost with the simple instructions on how to replace the liner myself. THAT is customer service that can't be overstated in today's business world. The 'Brick' design pen is squared in style and while I have loved it, I've really liked the aesthetics of the rounder design that this 'Robie House' roller ball sports and so as a Yule gift this year, my wife ordered me one. It is every bit as nice as the 'Brick' has been, solid and smooth and very well and durably finished.
While I love the pens, I don't buy the recommended German roller ball refills. I actually prefer Pilot's G2 gel ink pen refills. They fit well as is, but perfectly if you snip off 2mm on the barrel and replace the stopper before putting them into the pen. They are about $1.50 each refill.

X750 Kompass Fountain Pen Review

X750 Kompass Fountain Pen
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this pen because I wanted a fountain pen for daily use which was not a disposable and had some weight to it. So after some searching I decided on the X750 Kompass Fountain Pen. The price was right, it had the right weight and girth I was looking for and I liked the way it looked! I received my brand new pen in the mail shortly after ordering it! I also received a bottle of blue ink which was an added bonus! The pen came in a padded envelope with the ink along with an ink converter (screw type)and instructions. The pen is compatible with either cartridges or an ink converter, so I decided to use some ink cartridges I had on hand instead of the converter. Once the cartridge was installed and the pen was "inked" I wrote the word "Egypt" several times which is a standard way to test a fountain pen, because when you write "Egypt", it supposedly tests the writing of the pen from all angles? The pen laid down a real nice wet line, commensurate with the medium nib which came with the pen. Then I wrote "Egypt" fast a bunch of times and the pen continued to write very well! I have been using this pen on a daily basis for a a few weeks now and it writes like a champion! If I lost this pen now, I would be quite unhappy since it writes so well! It actually writes better than one of my more "expensive" brand name fountain pens which is ironic considering the brand name pen cost me a "mint"! I highly recommend this pen, though because of the price, I would hope the Quality Control system in place where this pen is manufactured is up to par? Too often with fountain pens which are "inexpensive" you get both good and bad because of inconsistent Quality Control systems?

Cross ATX Matte Chrome Fine Point Fountain Pen - 886-1FS Review

The Cross ATX fountain pen is a basic but terrific pen for everyday use. I've had mine for a year now and have had no problems with ink flow or leakage. The line width is slightly wider than one might think (I recommend a fine nib), but it's a great bold writer with a good weight balance in the hand. One of my favorites.

Staedtler Calligraphy Pen Set, 33 Pieces Review

Staedtler Calligraphy Pen Set, 33 Pieces
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It baffels me how many people wrote negative reviews on a product they obviously knew nothing about. I checked out this pen set and one of the first things I noticed was when it said it was a great set for BEGINNERS. Of course you're not going to get the same quality from these pens as you would from a several-hundred-dollar professional set, but it's great for what it is. It's a great set to start out with. So far I haven't had a problem with ANY of the pins or nibs. When I got it I immediately inserted an ink cartridge into each nib and went to town. Was able to doodle and scratch around for quite a surprising time before the ink ran out. The ink does bleed through the paper some, but alot of that can be countered by the pressure you put on the pen, as well as adjusting the angle/speed of your stroke. While the "instruction booklet" is more of a letter guide, showing you multiple calligraphic alphabets, but does not show you how to make each letter (tho with a little common sense and practice it can be figured out pretty easily). One thing that pleasingly surprised me about this set was the fact that you don't have to worry about "Lefty-Splatter" (a condition common to left handed people as with certain strokes we're actually pushing the nib across the paper instead of pulling it, which sometimes causes the nib to splatter extra ink on the page, a problem which I have yet to encounter.
So basically, to sum this up, it's not a high dollar professional set, but for a beginner it is a fine starter set.

Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pen, BLUE Ink, Sold as 1 Box of 12 Pens. Review

Pilot Varsity Disposable Fountain Pen, BLUE Ink, Sold as 1 Box of 12 Pens.
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Lamy, some old Parkers, and two Waterman fountain pens, yet this is the pen I keep with me all the time, the one I always use. The Parkers are OK, the Lamy and the Waterman pens are a joy to write with, but this pen is also pure pleasure to write with, and if I lose it I'm only out a couple of bucks.
I also don't mind so much when someone says "Hey, let me borrow that pen for a minute," then they carve a trench in the paper with a very heavy hand. Abuse will ruin this nib as quickly as any other, but again, they're easy to replace.
I like a medium nib, and this is a generous medium. If you're looking for delicate fine lines, this is not the pen you want. A gentle touch and average writing speed will produce a clear, unbroken line. Awareness of how I'm holding the pen and the speed of my writing forces me to concentrate on what I'm doing, and that turns my illegible scrawl into something that can almost be read without squinting. With minimal proper care, this pen will write smoothly without skipping until it begins to run out of ink. Even my Lamy can't write that consistently.
I've flown several times with this pen, including with one that was nearly empty, and I was a little worried that it would leak with the pressure change. It never did.
Some details:
- Store upright to prevent leaking. I clip one into a pocket in my purse.
- This is water-based ink, and it will smudge if you get it wet.
- Because the ink takes a couple of seconds to dry, if you drag your hand over your writing (if you're a lefty, perhaps?) this might not work for you.
- Be gentle with the nib (the writing point.) It can take a bit of abuse, but once you bend or warp it, the pen is pretty well useless. Cap the pen when you're done for the day. (I just put it down if I'm taking a break for a few minutes, and it doesn't dry out.)
- If you're having trouble with the pen, look at the way you're using it. Fountain pens require a little more care than ballpoints. If you're getting a broken line, be sure you're writing with the bottom of the nib and don't leave it uncapped for hours. If it's leaking, check that you're holding the barrel and not the nib. If it's not working on multi-part forms, give it to me and go get a Bic.
If you enjoy writing and you haven't tried a fountain pen, this is the place to start. If you use fountain pens but have to hide the good pens from co-workers, keep these on your desk. It's far better than a disposable has a right to be.

Pilot : Varsity Disposable Stick Fountain Pen, Black Barrel, Black Ink, Sold as 2 Pens Review

Pilot : Varsity Disposable Stick Fountain Pen, Black Barrel, Black Ink, Sold as 2 Pens
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The ink flow is fantastic on this pen. It writes with a dark, vibrant black that puts gel and rollerball pens to shame. Also dries quickly without any bleed-through.
Unfortunately, though, it's got a very scratchy feel to the writing --- like dragging a nail across the paper. It doesn't leave scratches, but it's at least as harsh as my usual rollerball (Uniball Micro) and no better than my usual gel pen (Pilot G2). If you're looking for an entry fountain pen that is representative of how they're supposed to feel when writing, you should really splurge the $25 for a Lamy Safari.

I have this pen. If you enjoy writing with a fountian pen or have never tried a fountian pen this is a good choice. It has a metal barrel, medium nib, and each ones coloration appears to be unique. I've written with many fountian pens but this one glides smoothly across the page as though on a bed of air. Truly a pleasure to write with. of course this is just my humble opinion, YMMV.
