Cross Refills Blue/Black Fountain Pen Cartridge - 8924 Review

Cross Refills Blue/Black Fountain Pen Cartridge - 8924
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
These fountain pen cartridges are very nice because they last a while and have a very sophisticated-looking color--they are neither blue nor black but a very dark midnight navy, almost like a bluish black. It looks very elegant on good stationery. Also, the overall experience with this seller was great!

Sheaffer Prelude Black Fountain Pen (Black Gld Trim Broad) Review

Sheaffer Prelude Black Fountain Pen (Black Gld Trim Broad)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A really nice balanced writing instrument. Only problem was that (unless I am totally unobservant) there is nothing in the instruction pamplet (all x - feet of it) that directs you how to fill that particular ink chanber. Called Sheaffer and after a bit of back and forth we figured out how it worked. The rep had to do some searching also so I didn't feel too bad. Works terrific when you know how to do it. Funny how that is with most things.

J. Herbin 30ML Fountain Pen Orange Indien Bottled Ink Review

J. Herbin 30ML Fountain Pen Orange Indien Bottled Ink
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I wanted a color that would contrast with the usual black and blue inks and found that there are reviews on the net even for this... I guess it looks like a pumpkin orange. This ink flows well on a Muji fountain pen from the get-go, and even better on specialty paper like Clairefontaine notebooks. I would have preferred a bigger bottle, at least 50ml...

Lamy AL-Star Ocean Blue Extra Fine Point Fountain Pen - L28EF Review

Lamy AL-Star Ocean Blue Extra Fine Point Fountain Pen - L28EF
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this several months ago and I've been using it regularly. I have to say that I was VERY impressed with the quality. I have been reluctant to buy Lamy pens because, in my opinion, they didn't look like they were well made. To me they look a little cheap in appearance with the way the clip looked that you use to clip it to a shirt. But I've been reading reviews of other Lamys on Amazon and on the [...]. I've liked what I read so I checked independently from other sources. I was very impressed by what I read and so decided to take a chance and buy one here. I've been very pleased with the smoothness of the Lamy in the extra fine nib. Some pens have a 'scratchiness' with even their fine point nibs. But this is like writing on silk or on water. That's the best way I can express it. I get none of the scratchiness of other pens and I'm very happy about that. I'll be buying more Lamys in the future that I already know. I like a quality writing pen and Lamy has it all the way, you won't be sorry for your purchase. I'm not.

Lamy Safari Pink - Limited Edition Medium Point Fountain Pen - L013PKM Review

Lamy Safari Pink - Limited Edition Medium Point Fountain Pen - L013PKM
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
this is a lovely pink shade and the service from the seller was very good - no complaints. my comment is with the design of the pen's grip. By all accounts it works well for a lot of people. But, if you are like me, left handed, and an "over writer" who holds her nib parallel to the line she's writing on, you won't like the grip on the pen. It's triangulated to "guide" your fingers to hold the nib to where most folks will find it works well. But that same "guide" does not work well for those who write the way I do - a simple circular grip is my preference.
I'd also comment, as you may hear from many folks, that Lamy nibs tend to write on the "fat" side of whatever they're designated - this medium is a very fat line, and I also have a Studio (love that pen) with an F nib that looks pretty close to a true medium.
so: pretty pen, and totally grand if the grip works for you. No problems with nib smoothness or ink flow. If not, it is at best a signature pen, unfortunately.

Genuine Montblanc Bottled Ink Refill - Midnight Blue 105194 Authorized Mont Blanc Pen Dealer Review

Genuine Montblanc Bottled Ink Refill - Midnight Blue 105194 Authorized Mont Blanc Pen Dealer
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
1. Regarding the bottle style: The front filling compartment makes tip-filling easier. You no longer have to blindly dunk your pen down into the depths of the bottle (like, say, with Noodler's Inks) and wonder if you're only covering the tip of nib because you can't see where your pen actually is. The bottle style is also great when ink is running low, because one can move all the remaining ink to the partition in the front and sequester it, so it can be used more efficiently.
2. Regarding the ink: The ink is a perfect dark blue shade that worked wonderfully for my needs (patient chart documentation) and was remarkably smooth with my fine nib fountain pen. Also, it dried very quickly (no doubt this is also likely due to the fine lines I wrote with the fine nib--but I noticed it dried faster than some of my other inks). Faster drying means less smudging and eliminates the need for a blotter.

Overall, my new favorite ink!

Diamine Burnt Sienna Bottled Ink Review

Diamine Burnt Sienna Bottled Ink
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Diamine fills an open niche in their ink repertoire by the addition of this beautiful ink. It is indeed a faithful rendition of the colour called Burnt Sienna in oil/acrylic painting circles. Unlike those media, however, this ink is very translucent and could be called a "mild" colour. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, I would have wished that the colour be more intense than it is. However it may please others whose tastes run more toward pale or mild inks. In my Pelikan 800 and 200 it flowed and worked well -- no flow problems, no clogging, no drips or other faults. It was a bit scanty in my Lamy Safari, but that pen has an extra-fine nib. All in all another excellent addition to the Diamine line, and in the tradition of value of Diamine, you get a full 90 ml of ink, more than other brands (like Herbin at 30 ml, Pelikan at 62 ml or Noodler's at 80 ml.) If economy is important to you, you'll appreciate Diamine, a company which gives good value as well as an amazing spectrum of beautiful inks.

Baystate Blue Review

Baystate Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I enjoy writing with a fountain pen, and I was drawn to Noodler's originally because it offered waterproof inks. I wanted a distinctive color, but I prefer to use black or blue. Baystate blue is quite vibrant, seeming to jump off the page, although it is variable depending on the quality of paper you use it on.
I have used it on both Molskine notebooks for journaling, Circa notebook paper for ideas, and plain old college ruled notebooks for class notes. It preformed well on all three, although it is not good if you want to write on both sides of cheap notebook paper, as it does show through.
On a less practical note, I liked the idea of using an ink similar to older historic inks, and as an old Massachusetts man myself, I enjoyed the idea of participating in some state history.

Lamy Joy AL Fountain Pen - Black/Silver, 1.5mm Nib L11-1.5 Review

Lamy Joy AL Fountain Pen - Black/Silver, 1.5mm Nib L11-1.5
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been using a Safari for a few years and love it; I thought a broader tip might be a fun change of pace so I ordered this pen.
While I was disappointed with the cap (it doesn't stay on the end of the pen when in use) it's a lovely looking pen and the length of it makes it feel like an elegant writing piece.
I have the 1.1 nib, and find it has enough flare to be a bit fancier looking for letters and correspondence, but not so much it's not appropriate for use in the office.
I first tried to use a cartridge with it, but didn't like it. I found that the converter is a much smoother and consistent writing experience, no wonder it's included with the pen. If it matters I use the Lamy brand bottled ink. I'm very happy with the way it writes and wonder at this point if I'll go back to the regular Safari!

Visconti Rembrandt Eco Red Silver Trim Rollerball Pen Review

Visconti Rembrandt Eco Red Silver Trim Rollerball Pen

I have always loved the feel and print of a fountain pen but have not fared well in writing with one. This pen accepts standard fountain pen ink from a bottle and writes really well. It has not leaked despite being knocked around in my briefcase and is carried on a daily commute on the NYC Subway system.

Parker 45 Blue & Chrome Fountain Pen Fine Nib Review

Parker 45 Blue and Chrome Fountain Pen Fine Nib
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Parker 45 is a very elegant pen, its design hasn't changed since the 60s, and for good reason. It's a light pen, but long and stylish with tapered ends. The barrel is plastic, the cap is steel. The nib is gold plated and semi-hooded, of a triangular shape, and writes well, although Parker's fine UK nib writes like a US medium and has a low tolerance on the holding angle. If it's rotated 10 degrees to the left or right, the flow stops, so it takes some getting used to. Also, could have been cheaper, in my opinion.

Aurora Qube by Firma Fountain Pen - Blue, Medium Nib F11-B Review

Aurora Qube by Firma Fountain Pen - Blue, Medium Nib F11-B
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Very Modern design, very cool and unique. It is not difficult to hold or use as it might appear due to its severe geometry. However, the medium nib does put out a lot of ink, so it tends to be blotchy and runs out of ink quickly. The magnetic cap works surprisingly well, but it does not create an airtight seal, so the nib will dry out when not used over a short period of time. You will have to scribble a few lines before it starts back up.
Other than that, I love it. It's a unique pen without being gaudy or super expensive. It comes in a plexiglass box that is a display case or pen holder for your desk. I plan on buying the other two colors in the near future.

Pelikan Souveran 600 Black/Red GT Broad Point Fountain Pen - 928663 Review

Pelikan Souveran 600 Black/Red GT Broad Point Fountain Pen - 928663
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Yes, there are other beautiful fountain pens out there that work beautifully, but nothing I've ever owned, including Montegrappa, Visconti, Aurora, Sailor, Waterman, Delta, Omas, or high end Parker and Sheaffer pens actually write better than either of my Pelikan 600's. Most don't write quite as consistently well. The Pelikan's an old style converter-only pen, but probably because of that, there are never any issues with getting it to write. If I use it at least once a week it writes immediately. I like fountain pens in general, but if I'm taking one with me to sign documents, write a letter, or make notes, it's going to be one of two models of pen-the Pelikan 600 or the Waterman Carene (another utilitarian winner, for sure!). Oh-from my experience, don't bother with Mont Blanc. Overpriced, unreliable, leaky, fussy and inconsistent. Otherwise quite lovely. Bleccchhh!!

Sheaffer Ink 2 Ounces-Skrip/Black Review

Sheaffer Ink 2 Ounces-Skrip/Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This ink is darker than Montblanc and Lamy black inks, and it is lighter than Noodler's and Cross/Pelikan black inks. It is very good at not feathering on bad paper and just OK for writing on both sides of bad paper. It is water-resistant enough for addresses on envelopes and package labels, but it is not safe for writing checks. It is safe for old pens, and it is almost pH neutral. The bottle is a good shape for no-spill opening and no-spill filling.

Lamy Bottled Ink 50ml Blue W/Blotting Paper Review

Lamy Bottled Ink 50ml Blue W/Blotting Paper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am no expert, this is the ink that came with my Lamy pen, so I am trying it again. Currently I have Noodler's blue on my Lamy Safary, but I do feel Lamy ink was probably better on that pen, for sure more intense color, and the amount of ink for the money is nice. I am currently using this ink on my Hero 329, it has excellent flow, good performance. Just wish I could find ink this pretty in permanent.
