Sensa Meridian Crystal Silver Fine Point Fountain Pen - N14305 Review

Sensa Meridian Crystal Silver Fine Point Fountain Pen - N14305

this is a great pen. I have it with the fine point nib and also the med. point nib. The medium point nib leaves a rather broad line and a bit too broad for my purposes. I am an artist and do ink sketches with watercolor washes so the fine point is perfect for this. The pen is extremely comfortable to hold. The 'plasmium' grip is ADDICTING! You'll be thinking of ways to use this pen just so you can hold it. I also journal with it so it is very comfortable to use for long periods of time. The nib glides over moleskine paper and typical sketchbook paper with ease. I use Noodler's Bulletproof black ink in this pen without a problem. The pen does have a little heft to it, but I like it.

Rotring Sketching Art Pen EF - extra fine Review

Rotring Sketching Art Pen EF - extra fine

It is not possible to store the cap to the pen on the end of the pen which is irritating. However I cut the end off with my bandsaw and glued a plastic colored thumbtack cap on the end for cosmetic purposes. (They color metal thumbtacks by affixing lightweight colored caps onto them. They are easy to remove.) Now the cap to the pen fits on great. Plus the pen is lighter which is always a bonus for me. At first I found this pen very stiff and its ink flow very light. However the distribution of ink is so steady it is possible to use it as fast as you can use a pencil and build up tone the way one might want to with an ink pen (Van Gogh etc.) I use the converter and my own purchased walnut ink rather than cartridges. It has loosened up a bit and I must say at this point I am happy with it. No hint of leakage to date.

Art Alternatives Pen & Ink Sketch Fountain Pen Set Review

Art Alternatives Pen and Ink Sketch Fountain Pen Set

I read the reviews already posted and I am baffled. If you follow the instructions that come with the pen, you should have no problems with it. I love my pen. It's the best 20 dollars I ever spent. One reviewer complained the nib wasn't flexible enough. It's a fountain pen not a crow's quill nib!
I personally think that this is a great pen for the money. Also, I might add that Pen & Ink brand fountain pen ink is wonderful too. Once it dries, you can use watercolor washes and it doesn't bleed!

Kaimei Natural Hair Sumi Brush Pen Review

Kaimei Natural Hair Sumi Brush Pen
Average Reviews:

I was so excited to see a "natural hair" brush rather than the synthetics so common in a brush pen these days. Believe me the difference was IMMEDIATELY apparent as soon as the brush hit the paper! Beautiful! It took about 5 minutes for the ink to reach the hairs and meet the paper, but once it did it flowed freely and nicely. The ONLY problem I can see with this brush is the ink that is chosen to accommodate it. It's way too thin and not a true black. Is there a solution? I think so! I took out (unscrewed) the "dummy cartridge" that comes installed with the pen, emptied out the water solution in it and as the little ball fell to the bottom,..I proceeded to fill it with a tiny eyedropper with REAL black ink! Now I have a champ on my hands!!! This is a thing of beauty! REAL hair brush and no dipping! Nice!!!!
There is an $80.00 model too but I sacrificed the classy shell and wider girth for the longer stem so I could fully test this at a reasonable price.

Namiki Falcon Fountain Pen - Black, Fine Nib 60152 Review

Namiki Falcon Fountain Pen - Black, Fine Nib 60152
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received this pen as a Christmas gift, and I am thrilled with it. I have a lot of pens, including a few Namiki vanishing fountain pens. No surprise that Namiki made a good product.
The pen is lightweight, but still has enough balance to not feel "too" light. I usually like solid pens. This is a solid pen, but light. It reminds me of ... a quill. A bird feather is strong, but hollow and light. Though I've never written with a "real" quill, perhaps this is the inspiration.
The nib (mine is fine) is fine, but not scratchy. It seems perfectly balanced with the instrument. The ink flows gracefully as a bigger nib, but with a finer line.
The cap screws off/on, which is great for a pen with such fluid ink; no accidental cap slipping off in a pocket, or coming loose. It is solid all the way around.
The style is nice, and understated. It looks like the fine pen that it is.
Strongly recommended!

Rotring Sketching Art Pen F - fine Review

Rotring Sketching Art Pen F - fine

This is fantastich!
Everything good about a pen is here; weight in hand, smoothness, flow, and even grip, despite a lack of that 'gummy' stuff that's so popular now. I love ROtring nibs, and this one is no different. They're durable as all get-out and have an iridium tip that sets them a class above plain old steel, although they aren't top of the line gold-plated.
The bad thing is that the pen can't be topped. You can't put the cap on the top once you take it off. I should have noticed this, of course, but I didn't, and it's really annoying because I have to put it in my pocket when I don't have a desk. Also, the pen itself is pretty long and didn't fit in my coat pocket. I thought about putting a hole in the pocket just to fit it because I loved it so much, but then I left it in Tennessee....
