It is not as smooth starting off as I had thought it would be. I have several fountain pens (Cross, Montblanc); I found that the Parker skips and "drags" a little when I first took it out of the box and for the first few times I used it. If I let it sit in a drawer for a few days and don't use it, the problem recurs. I did find that it gets better and develops a much smoother line the more I use it. I have been using it daily now for about a month and it is a pleasure to write with. Someone else may the same experience; be persistent; the more you use it the better it gets.
