Parker Sonnet Premium Gold Lustre GT Fine Point Fountain Pen - 1743555 Review

Parker Sonnet Premium Gold Lustre GT Fine Point Fountain Pen - 1743555
Average Reviews:

This gold plated Parker Sonnet fountain pen is the perfect pen in this price range. As a chemist, I often have acetone or other organic solvents on my hands that would melt or disfigure a plastic or polymer pen. Besides an outstanding appearance, the nice thing about gold is that no chemical that you will ever get on your hands will ever tarnish or damage the pen's finish. My last gold plated Parker fountain pen lasted me 32 years. I expect no less from this one. Oh, I thought about the gold Monte Blanc pens, but at over $1,000, they were way too expensive. This pen comes with the preferred screw piston filling system for refilling from an ink bottle or it will take the disposable Parker ink cartridges.

Parker Duofold Black Platinum Trim International Medium Point Fountain Pen - 91512-00 Review

Parker Duofold Black Platinum Trim International Medium Point Fountain Pen - 91512-00
Average Reviews:

The Parker Duofold International is a cartridge or convertor fill pen. The convertor stills well enough, but something that gave a positive lock, like a click or some other 'good' sound would be nice. The pen writes well straight from the box and works even better after frunning a cartridge of ink through the nib and then cleaning it. The medium nib writes a smooth fairly wet line that is about 2 mm wide line which is what I have come to expect from moden Parker pens, especially the International Duofolds. It is a nice line and if you have a large expressive signature and writing style, then I think this would be an excellent choice. If on the otherhand you tend to write smallish letters the wide and wet line are fine if you wite at a rapid pace. I write with faily large capitals and medium sized script, so this works quite well for me. Best wishes in your shopping.

Pilot Knight Collection Ball Point Pen Medium Point, Silver Barrel, 65203 Review

Pilot Knight Collection Ball Point Pen Medium Point, Silver Barrel, 65203

The pen itself is hefty, large, well balanced and nicely machined. All the parts fit together and remain snug. The pen is VERY comfortable in the hand IF you are used to pens that have larger barrels. It takes no effort whatsoever to write with this pen. The ink is VERY smooth flowing in fact, it's a bit too smooth flowing and it tends to blob a bit. Blobbing is worse with fine point than medium point. Lovely pen, so-so ink.

The pen is good, however, as I stated the blue enamel one that I have for the last two years does chip. That still did not stop me from purchasing this one. It is a great pen, noticeable with people and very nice writer. Thanks

Personally I love this pen. It writes great and the nib is a perfect size so that the ink doesn't flow out too fast as is the case with larger nib sized fountain pens. Only problem I've had is that at times too much ink leaks from the tip onto the inside of the cap which can then come off on the shaft of the pen when in use. This ink comes off instantly though so it never really becomes a problem. Beautiful pen!

Sheaffer Prelude Pen, Black (SH/355-0 ) Review

Sheaffer Prelude Pen, Black (SH/355-0 )

A really nice balanced writing instrument. Only problem was that (unless I am totally unobservant) there is nothing in the instruction pamplet (all x - feet of it) that directs you how to fill that particular ink chanber. Called Sheaffer and after a bit of back and forth we figured out how it worked. The rep had to do some searching also so I didn't feel too bad. Works terrific when you know how to do it. Funny how that is with most things.

The cap can get bent easily if it accidentally falls down. My Parker Sonnet is smoother but it could be because it is older and I have used it a lot.

Parker Sonnet Sterling Ciselé Fine Point Fountain Pen with Golden Trim, Silver (1743550) Review

Parker Sonnet Sterling Ciselé Fine Point Fountain Pen with Golden Trim, Silver (1743550)
Average Reviews:

It is not as smooth starting off as I had thought it would be. I have several fountain pens (Cross, Montblanc); I found that the Parker skips and "drags" a little when I first took it out of the box and for the first few times I used it. If I let it sit in a drawer for a few days and don't use it, the problem recurs. I did find that it gets better and develops a much smoother line the more I use it. I have been using it daily now for about a month and it is a pleasure to write with. Someone else may the same experience; be persistent; the more you use it the better it gets.

This delightful number from Parker looks better in person than in the product photos here on Amazon. It provides visual satisfaction looking at it from any angle.
From a tactile perspective, it also provides a wonderful sensation to use. Not too heavy or light, and the right thickness for a pen, unlike some expensive pens out there.
Count me a very satisfied customer!
