(More customer reviews)I don't own very many pens - this was a special farewell gift from a few colleagues of mine. I would never have considered Sheaffer if it were not for this pen.
I fortunately have a very different experience compared to the other reviewer. Mine was perfect.
The palladium finish was finger-print resistant (but still needs the odd wipe-down because of its shiny finish). The weight is great for me, and the length is just right without the cap on. As for the nib - it looks amazing and writes as smooth as butter with Sheaffer skrip ink. The ink flow is 'wet' but consistent. It was good to go out of the presentation box, I didn't have to readjust the nib.
I thought my Lamy safari was going to be my work-horse pen, but this is so smooth I've decided to use it almost exclusively. I've even put aside my blue gel pens and am using this whenever I can.
I am fond of noodler's polar blue ink, but I think I'll avoid using it in this pen (Polar blue it tends to creep up the nib way too much - and this nib is too decorative to hide). To those who find it too scratchy or not smooth enough, perhaps try it with another ink, or have it looked at by someone who knows about maintaining / readjusting nibs.
SUMMARY : it writes beautifully, looks magnificent, will last a lifetime (and more).
