I also have the basic Mont Blanc fountain pen which I use daily. My problem was that I couldn't find refills locally and I go through them pretty quickly.
Amazon to the rescue. Genuine Mont Blanc refills at a good price. The ink is smooth and a nice shade of blue. The refills are top quality and I recommend them without reservation.
