Noodler's Eternal Fountain Pen Ink - Red Fox Review

A good, flowy red ink, without excessively bright or orangish tones; definitely reminiscent of what you'd expect a teacher's correction pen to be.
I may not be a teacher - I actually use the ink to make notes stand out on mainly black & white documents, or to underline or circle large paragraphs (where a highlighter would be impractical). However, due to the "authority" a red pen embodies, I ended up filling my Grandpa's gift Parker "51" with it.
I've had few problems; it does seem a bit more fluid than Noodler's Black, sometimes to the point of occasional feathering.
I do like that Fox Red is part of the families of "bulletproof" inks - a designation given to inks designed to withstand not only the test of time, but also deliberate tampering by man (it may have not have had this designation to begin with, but it has since been reformulated, IIRC).
I only have one major gripe - and it's why I'm giving this four stars instead of five: It's VERY expensive, per ounce. Unlike Noodler's Black, Legal Lapis, etc. - which come in 3 oz. bottles for the near US$20.00 price - Fox Red (as well as Hunter Green and Luxury Blue - part of the same series) come in 1 oz. bottles for the same price.
Now, I don't know why that is; perhaps they use new and expensive ingredients (to make a bulletproof ink with such colors). They are pricey, though - even by my standards.
I'm glad I use it as an illumination ink, because I couldn't afford to use it as a main writing ink (I use Noodler's Black for that purpose).
