(More customer reviews)This is a great pen, up to Pelikan's usual high standards. Fit and finish were excellent. Some might think that the pen's all-black appearance is too severe, but to my eyes, the slight bit of gold in the rings offset the black perfectly. I hate gaudy pens! One word of warning: if you do not know how to write in the italic style, this pen may be difficult for you. This is because it is a "medium" but as is usually true with Pelikans, medium means broad and fine means medium. In other words, Pelikans tend to be broader for their name, than other makes such as Namiki. A "broad" italic nib (what Pelikan calls a "medium" nib) can be difficult to control in normal cursive writing. For those of us who know how to write in genuine italic style, it is a fine pen with lots of characer, and a joy to write with
