(More customer reviews)This ink is NOT water resistant! The manufacturer should clearly state this instead of making inaccurate claims about it.
When you immerse a paper after writing with this ink (and letting it dry overnight, just to be sure), the blue stuff starts to come off immediately and ends up all over the paper. What remains in place of the original writing is black-ish remains of formerly blue ink. Completely unacceptable.
In comparison, the Namiki blue ink, which is my main ink and which has never been sold as water resistant, is completely water resistant, without any trace of smudging or discoloration even after a prolonged incubation of written material in water.
On a flip side, Bad Belted Kingfisher is completely resistant to alcohol and bleach, as claimed, and in contrast to other ink I own. Another positive point is that this ink allows to write on very bad paper, even paper napkins, with minimal or no feathering.
Overall, most of what is claimed about this ink is true with an exception of water resistance. However, water for most people is the substance that gets spilled on documents most frequently, thus making the usefulness of this ink to protect the documents questionable. To be fair, I am leaving open a possibility that I just got a bad batch.
