(More customer reviews)The Exterior of the pen was as it appeared complete with the slightly tacky gemstones around the cap. (but my son likes it & it's his pen). One point of interest, the pen is sold as Bulow, but the nib is engraved with the brand name "Jinhao". Not that that fact bothers me, it is my understanding those are also pretty good pens. It's not the same style nib as in the picture. The one I got has a classic pattern nib. The picture in Amazon shows a modern style nib.
It has a fine point that writes well, but it is unforgiving on what position you hold the tip, You have to find it's sweet spot and adjust your hold to it. (But I guess that's why writing with a fountain or nib pen isn't just writing, it's an art form.) The body and grip of the pen are slender, a little thicker than a pencil. If you like thin writing instruments (I do) this would be a good choice.
The tip was about average to get the ink flowing in. after setting a couple of days I had to crank-up the plunger on the adapter to force ink into the tip to get it flowing again. I'm not sure if that's normal I've only used ink cartridges until now. All in all it's a decent starter or every day pen that wouldn't get you to wound-up if it was lost.
